Anne Lindley, co-writer, recalls that she was thinking about the idea about the fallen woman. When a woman is perceived as a bad woman, fallen woman, an immoral woman, there is often a lot of blame that she takes on for becoming that way. Anne came up with the story of Jezebel, the town “bad girl”, and what her real story is and how, with the help of her sister, she defends herself and makes a new life. This is the ONLY song where I play the banjo.
