During the summer of 2020, at the height of the Covid epidemic, Kate asked Woodstock-area residents Jerry Marotta and Tony Levin to join her on her 5th recording, Ballad of a Bad Girl (Dog Eared Discs 2021). The three of them donned their masks and recorded the album at Dreamland Studios in Woodstock, NY. After a 15-year hiatus, Kate, on this album, has moved to a new level of songwriting (with Anne Lindley) and vocal prowess. A somewhat spare production, Jerry and Tony add depth and clarity to her songs, as well as a couple of surprise cover tunes here to delight the listener.
