From the recording Ballad of a Bad Girl
Guitar, vocal, electric standup bass by Tony Levin. A metaphor for having sinned and redeemed oneself—“just like Berlin” has done over the last century. This song came to me as lyric and melody simultaneously on the day of the bombing of the Christmas market in Berlin, in 2016, but it is not about the bombing. It goes on a tangent to say that we are all flawed beings, who have the choice between making personal repairs or not. This song wrote itself in a couple of days’ time.
