Sincere declaration that the singer promises that no matter how far he roams to sing his songs, he will always come back home, as long as he is still welcome there! I had wanted to do a Creedence song for decades, and thought that this is the right time to do just that. The vamping at the end was unplanned because we weren’t exactly sure how to end the song—on a fade-out, a hard stop, so we did something inbetween—we just kept going!
